I Love Taking Pictures

Yoga
We do yoga every Friday with Naomi Picinich, from Street Yoga. She lives on a farm, Tryon Farms (you can see her on the bottom picture on the very right). Together we do lots of fun yoga moves, like the cat and cow on the top picture. Emese is doing the cat. Everyone likes the cat and cow because we moo and hiss during it. My favorite part of yoga is being together.
My first day with the camera
Meet Monica!
Dance Dance Dance!
We never fail to be absolutely amazed at how wonderful the community has been in welcoming us wherever we venture weekly. On April 2nd, we loaded into the van to embark on an outing unlike the others before. Upon arriving to Reed College, we were warmly greeted by two lovely ladies, Maggie Booth and Sandra Voss, both psychology majors and dancers. For the next hour, they inspired everyone to leap, twirl, listen to the effect of the music on our bodies, and to laugh. Whatever nervousness we might have felt about the prospect of dancing was quelled and in place of it, we were filled with awe for the kindness our beautiful hosts have shown us and a new appreciation for the potential that existed in our bodies and music.
Dan said, "I like the turn around most!"
Monica responded, "They should call it the washing machine!"
"How about the hopping one, that was a fun one!" replied Dan with a smile.
Tuesday's Adventures
Every Tuesday the adventurers at ProjectGrow bravely embark on a whole new experience in art. We have soaked strings in paint and recklessly flung it against large pieces of eager paper and marveled at the unexpected shapes this created! We have carved gardens out of pictures from National Geographic magazines and planted them on a brown canvas with colorful yarn. We have even immersed apples in paint to see what it would inspire in us (Jamond's example is above). These adventures have led to many opportunities to giggle, nervously laugh, and to grow. Tomorrow is a whole new chance to leap into another possibility!
